How to Decorate Colorful Spaces

We are right on the edge of spring, waiting for the dreary winter weather to go back into hiding and looking forward to flowers pushing out of the soil again. Spring always gets me excited for color, since those long winter months can be downright dark and gloomy. Bright colors are an easy way to add a little spring to your home, so here are some ideas for bringing in spring sunshine:

Paint the walls in a vibrant color and add a few throw pillows in coordinating hues, like this room (above). Notice the striped rug with splashes of orange in the room. That really adds a fun pop, too!

This black and white bedroom is chic and monochromatic, but adding a splash of blue on the walls and chandelier really revs up this room big time (above).

Sometimes just adding a fresh, vibrant floral arrangement will bring life to a room. Mixing up throw pillows in just two colors pick up the tones in the hot pink flowers. This room (above) is soothing, yet the pink spices it up. Throw pillows are such an easy way to update a space and bring in instant color.

This room (above) is mostly neutral, but the added punch of aqua on the sofa and bold geometric drapes, adds such a punch to the room. The bold fabric on the vintage chairs also brings in a wonderful sense of style to this space. With white walls and a neutral rug, this room sings!

This colorful laundry room (above) is alive with vibrant hues of green and blue, with a pop of red for fun. Who says a laundry space has to be boring? Rev it up with color, fun fabrics, and cheeky elements, like the clothespin motif on the wall. I could definitely live in this laundry room.

Don't forget those outdoor rooms when it comes to color. This pretty patio space (above) features a neutral ceiling and floor, but that colorful striped rug is totally the focal point in this blue and green living space. You'd want to hang out in this room for hours on end.
