From a group paint project to themed snacks, this kids' party is downright inspiring!
For my daughter's fourth birthday I threw her a rainbow paint party. I dressed her up in a rainbow bunting party dress off. I made her a fascinator with different colored feathers and made headbands in each color for all of the girls.
The decor was easy to pull together. You can find rainbow items everywhere and at almost any party store, and really a rainbow party is just a mix of every color under the sun. Throughout the year, I waited until after holidays for certain colors to go on sale so I could stock up.
To decorate I used a base of white with pops of bright color. The back wall by the dessert table was covered in 30 paper fans in rainbow order. We had a rainbow layered caked with rainbow fondant polka dots. This cake was saved for a family party later that night. You can see it peeking out behind the birthday girl (above).
For the party with her friends I served cupcakes in an ice cream cone put on a cardboard cutout of a paint palette. We also served rainbow fruit sticks, macarons, rainbow lollipops to take home, and milk jars with sprinkles on the rim for something to drink
I adorned the activity table with mini paint cans filled with a single color of flower, creating a rainbow along the center of the table. At each girls' place sat water color paint palettes tied to white canvases with rainbow ribbon. I debated a laying down a pretty table cloth but knew four year olds would be messy so I just used a plastic tablecloth.
Cute chevron rainbow aprons were hung on the back of their chairs for them to wear when they arrived. They got to take them home as favors along with their mini canvases! For the activities, We strung necklaces with rainbow colored Fruit Loops, painted our tiny canvases, and at the very end of the party I had all the girls fingerpaint a giant canvas. It was a huge hit!
